tonimaugeriartwork.com | As a young girl growing up in our patriarchal/hierarchal system, I survived by mastering the art of deception. When patriarchy slapped me in the face I expertly hid my pain, shame, and silence. When hierarchy reared its ugly head I brilliantly played the role of Teflon superwoman. But if you read between the lines you will find the strong and strong-willed self-identified woman who chooses herself. The Message Between the Lines reflects the dark side of my story written in between the lines and patterns. I honor the feminine story by representing a goddess of earth, wind, air, and fire. We must stand loud and united four-square against all suffering. She has been through hell so believe me when I say fear her when she looks into a fire and smiles.
