@wood_hoper | hazroom.com/profile/hope-wood | My work deconstructs the patriarchy through reverence for divine femininity – connection to our bodies and the earth. Cyclical Sustenance reflects my spiritual connections with Mother Earth and the moon. The imagery captures the grounding essence found in the cycles of these celestial bodies, symbolizing the eternal journey of birth and death. Mushrooms symbolize the gift of transformation, digesting the dead and creating something new—a dance within Earth’s cyclical sustenance. Womb Food is a resource for people with wombs to build a relationship with their inner seasons that reflects the cyclical seasons of the Earth. Deconstructing the patriarchy includes dismantling the patriarchal disregard for the cyclical needs of female bodies. Patriarchy deceives people into believing that their bodies are machines with consistent energy levels that must conform to the linear expectations of productivity and consumption. This print aims to increase access to educational material for nourishing the cyclical needs of our bodies.
