@caramastanduno | Dance performance featured at Opening Event. Dancing slowly and ecstatically has been an act of defiance where I get to exercise listening and patience in a world that prioritizes “efficiency” and fear-based decision-making. Listening to music and allowing my body to move according to my instinctual reaction allows me to feel a sense of control over my body. I feel tapped into what I believe to be the current that exists within the universe – divine feminine – in a way that I get to claim with no judgment. The current I feel and allow to flow through my body is something greater than me. It makes me forget all the times others have tried to force or have control over my body – taking it for their egos – and allows me to relinquish my movement to something so much greater than ego itself.
